INTRODUCTION Over the past 18 months I have been undertaking a research project as part of a Masters in Social Administration. The research examines participation from the client's perspective in a family and childrens service operated by Burnside in the Macarthur region of South-West Sydney. The research identifies the processes by which participation was facilitated and what the clients' feelings and perceptions were of those processes and outcomes.
